Since the English language has developed in different ways in separate countries, a divergence has grown between the language as it’s used in the USA and the form most commonly used in the British Isles and other countries where British usage is preferred. The NRSV Anglicized Edition maintains the integrity of the NRSV translation while rendering words that might otherwise be uncertain or awkward into the best generally acceptable equivalent in British usage, and adjusting appropriate points of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
